Collaboration brings farm-fresh foods to local agencies.

Bill Zimmer is relentless!  A local grower and volunteer for the State College Food Bank, Bill has brought together several local growers and farmer’s markets again this summer to donate thousands of pounds of fresh produce to State College Meals on Wheels, food banks in State College and Bellefonte, and Taproot Kitchen, as well as individuals in need. Not only does this effort save agencies money, it provides high quality, nutritious ingredients for the recipients.  Our thanks to Bill and the local providers for another great effort!

Did You Know?

Did you know that since SCMOW is privately funded, we are not limited in serving those who may not meet all the federal rules for home-delivered meal service?  We may serve anyone whom we deem as in need of the service, regardless of age or income. Volunteering for Meals on Wheels is easy and rewarding!

Volunteering for Meals on Wheels is easy and rewarding! All it takes is a couple hours a week to help package or deliver meals. Our volunteers tell us how much they enjoy the camaraderie of our volunteer team and the satisfaction of helping others. Schedules are flexible and several different volunteer positions are available (see Volunteer Positions link above). Volunteer with a friend - we can put you on a route or shift together!
